Expanding Access to Free, High‑Quality Healthcare

Group 285 1

Matthew 25 Health and Care is launching an $18 million campaign to expand access to free medical, dental, vision, and mental health services for uninsured adults across Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio. This effort strengthens our mission to provide compassionate, high‑quality care to those who need it most.

We are currently in active discussions with a potential buyer for our East Jefferson Boulevard building. The sale is expected to contribute approximately $3 million to our endowment, which supports future operating costs and protects our mission for generations. A strong endowment ensures long‑term stability and reinforces our ability to serve the most vulnerable with dignity and compassion.

This investment will reduce the overall fundraising goal and increase the impact of every donor contribution. It will also help secure the long‑term sustainability of our facilities and operations. The transition supports our planned move from West Jefferson to our new home on Beacon Street, where expanded space will allow us to serve more patients with greater efficiency, comfort, and care.

Why This Matters

Poverty directly affects health. Uninsured adults often delay care until emergencies arise. Chronic stress, food insecurity, and other barriers worsen illness and place heavy strain on local hospitals. Matthew 25 fills this gap by providing comprehensive care at no charge, funded entirely by donors, foundations, and community partners. Every appointment and prescription is an act of generosity that restores stability and hope.

Building a Facility for the Future

Our current space cannot meet the growing need. The new facility will sustain current operations and allow us to serve more people. Key improvements include:

  • 30,000+ sq. ft. facility with a more efficient, purpose built medical and dental design. (33% increase)
  • Add 4 dental operatories to reduce dental wait list to less than 100 individuals. (50% increase in service capacity)
  • Add 4 medical exam rooms to reduce the medical wait list from 7-9 weeks to 1- 2 weeks. (33% increase in service capacity)
  • Add 2 eye exam rooms to significantly reduce vision care waitlist. (Waitlist is currently at 1 year and are hoping to reduce to 6 months, 50% increase in service capacity)
  • First floor physical therapy clinic to remove barriers for patients who cannot use stairs in our current facility.
  • Add 2 expanded, appropriate spaces for mental health services and trauma-informed care.
  • Drive-thru medication dispensary to cut in-clinic time by half and increase convenience.
  • Walk-in clinics run by residents to provide same-day care. (New service offering)
  • Private spaces for eligibility screening and patient advocacy to ensure HIPAA-compliant processing.
  • Improved lab access to increase efficiency and compliance as 98% of patients require lab work.
  • Additional parking essential for staff, volunteers, and patients.
  • Built using universal design principles, ensuring the facility is inclusive and accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds – now and in the future.

A Stronger Community

When individuals receive timely, compassionate care, they thrive. When individuals thrive, the entire community grows stronger. This campaign builds more than a facility. It builds health, stability, and hope.
